Test & Feedback: A Chrome Extension for Bug and Issue Tracking

When it comes to developing Chrome extensions , it's crucial to have effective bug and issue tracking tools. One such tool that has garnered high ratings and positive user feedback is Test & Feedback. With an impressive aggregate rating of 4.23 out of 5, this Chrome extension is highly regarded by users for its outstanding features and ease of use.

Key Features of Test & Feedback

Test & Feedback is a powerful bug tracking tool that allows users to capture, create, and collaborate on issues directly from the browser. It is designed to facilitate the testing and feedback process for all members of a development team, including product owners, developers, testers, and UX designers. Here are some of its noteworthy features:

  • Capture: Users can take notes, screenshots with annotations, and screen recordings to capture problems. The extension automatically includes rich data such as user actions, page load data, and system information, providing comprehensive context for each reported issue.
  • Create: Test & Feedback enables users to create bugs, tasks, and feedback response work items to send feedback or report problems. It also allows for quick creation of test cases based on the image action log while exploring the app. All captured information is automatically attached to the corresponding work items.
  • Collaborate: Users can work offline in standalone mode and then export their sessions to share findings with the team. For a more integrated experience with end-to-end traceability, Test & Feedback can be connected to Azure DevOps Services or Team Foundation Server. This integration enables seamless exploration of user stories, management of feedback requests, and easy tracking of bugs, tasks, and other work items.

User Feedback on Test & Feedback

Test & Feedback has received a range of reviews from its users. Claudia Enriquez highly appreciates the usefulness and practicality of the extension. However, Douglas Lorenzi Saldanha points out that some content is blocked by login requirements, which may be a drawback for those who do not use Azure DevOps. Derick Mommsen states that while the extension worked fine initially, it stopped opening without any error messages. On the other hand, Nathan Victor expresses concerns about the lack of updates and missing features. Dhuruvakumar Ksheersagar, OMNI BOOKING, Rakesh Bhatnagar, Faisal Ansari, and jormah maho merely left test comments.

Why Test & Feedback Stands Out

Despite a few negative reviews, Test & Feedback remains a highly regarded Chrome extension for bug and issue tracking. Its comprehensive capturing capabilities, seamless integration with Azure DevOps Services and Team Foundation Server, and collaborative features make it a valuable tool for any development team. The ability to work in standalone mode without requiring a connection to a server is particularly useful for small teams. Additionally, the end-to-end traceability, insights across completed exploratory sessions, and simplified bug/task tracking provide a seamless workflow for users with Basic access.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a reliable bug and issue tracking solution for your Chrome extensions, Test & Feedback is definitely worth considering. Its excellent user ratings, comprehensive features, and seamless integration make it one of the top choices in the market. Give it a try and experience the benefits of efficient bug tracking and issue reporting directly from your browser.

Trying to connect to Microsoft hosted Azure Devops and it says I need to be using a version >= TFS 2015. Doesn't work.

Is this a supported extension? The last update is over a year ago and the how-to video's gone. I'm trying it because it would help make posting issue info very nice. The screenshots and session info are uploaded to the issue, but I don't see the video capture or notes submitted to Azure DevOps. I see there's difference in access for basic and stakeholder, but this doesn't seem to be one of them. What am I missing?

The idea is excellent!, could be useful to attach a file for a Bug/Task

Xaaron Zeinhofer

useless if you have testcases with more than 15 steps, would be pretty useful otherwise

Hi! I have following problem, after installing extension and trying to make a snapshot error occurs "To capture screen or action logs, make sure Test & Feedback extension is connected to globalfo.visualstudio.com." I tried a lot of things to solve it but nothing works, any thoughts?

I had one issue where it only records 15 screenshot and then it overrides the existing screenshots.. that's the only issue I had. If this is upgraded then I recommend this tool to all my friends. Let me know whether it will fixed in near future

Adrian Cunningham

Great concept if it works correctly, doesn't always capture the session. I'll try to create a test case from a session, but it simply doesn't capture all the interactions with the browser, so you end up with half a test case or bug.

Mark Daniel Magumcia

There comes a time when in the middle of execution, the whole browser crashes when you try to capture a screenshot. When that happens, Google chrome will no longer respond thus it will exit. If you reopen your test case, it will have a status of "in progress" and you can no longer resume your execution. You have to re-execute everything. It is troublesome when you have more than 20 steps and plenty of screenshots

Zac Boyles

Extremely powerful and has fantastic integration with Azure DevOps.
